As a Delivery Driver placed by Marsh Recruitment, you will be the face of our clients’ businesses, responsible for the safe, timely, and professional delivery of goods and parcels to customers across designated routes. Key Responsibilities

• Route Planning & Vehicle Preparation: Plan and complete efficient daily delivery and pick-up routes. Load your delivery vehicle safely and securely with parcels and goods scheduled for delivery, organising items in order of delivery to maximise efficiency.
• Timely Deliveries & Collections: Execute scheduled deliveries and collections within specified time windows, ensuring all work is completed in a timely and professional manner. Adhere strictly to your assigned trip sheet and schedule.
• Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during deliveries. Provide a friendly, helpful, and professional service, ensuring a positive customer experience with every interaction.
• Safety & Compliance: Operate the delivery vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, strictly adhering to all traffic regulations and safe driving practices. Ensure the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• Manual Handling: Perform frequent lifting, carrying, and manual handling of parcels and goods, including hand unloading of freight as required.
• Communication & Reporting: Maintain effective communication with the dispatch team and clients. Report any delays, issues, or discrepancies promptly and accurately.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence (B-Category manual) with no more than 6 penalty points. A clear driving record is highly desirable.
• Customer Service Skills: A strong customer-focused attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Time Management: The ability to organise your time and workload effectively to meet tight delivery schedules.
• Reliability & Independence: A self-motivated and reliable individual who can work independently and use their initiative.
• Attention to Detail: A thorough and meticulous approach to checking orders for accuracy and quality before delivery.
• Physical Fitness: Good physical fitness to handle the demands of frequent lifting, carrying, and manual handling.

Desirable:

• Experience: Previous experience in a delivery, logistics, or customer-facing role.
• Local Knowledge: A good knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.
• Systems Experience: Experience using stock or order processing systems is an advantage.
• Navigation Skills: Proficiency with route navigation software and apps.
• Flexibility: A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet the needs of the business.
